What Are We Doing?
Opposing the hostile takeover of Liberty Apple Valley
I’ve known Marc Puckett since he came to Apple Valley in 2010, and feel blessed that he is part of our team of professionals guiding us through the challenges municipalities throughout California are facing. As a result of Marc’s hard work and oversight, the Town of Apple Valley earned the California Society of Municipal Finance Officer’s Operating Budget Excellence Award. We weathered the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression and the loss of state redevelopment financing. In simplest terms, we are a strong Town because of him.
All of which makes the vicious attacks on Marc’s character so maddening and so outrageous. On one hand, I deplore even acknowledging these attacks.
At the same time, we’re talking about a man who has devoted his professional career to public service and, in the case of Apple Valley, ensuring that we don’t go down the path of financial despair that so many communities have.
In the end, however, this isn’t about Marc, but about those who would so hatefully attack him for their own interests.
Curt Emick, Apple Valley Town Councilman
