AVRWC appoints Tony Penna as General Manager (May 21, 2014)

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. — Apple Valley Ranchos Water Company is pleased to announce several organizational changes including the appointment of Tony Penna as General Manager, said Christopher Schilling, CEO of Park Water Co., the parent company of Ranchos Water.

I am pleased to report Tony Penna is being promoted to General Manager of Ranchos Water. We are fortunate to have him as he brings an acute understanding of utility operations and project management, said Schilling. I look forward to working closely with him. I know he looks forward to working with the team and community.

Ranchos has been a part Apple Valley’s history by providing quality, reliable service and will definitely continue to be a contributing part of Apple Valley’s future, Penna explained. Keeping our customers informed on how we collectively can best manage our water resources in the high-desert is vital. Assisting our customers with conservation information to preserve and protect water resources will be a continued focus, said Penna.

For decades, Ranchos Water has worked as an integral part of the Apple Valley high-desert community through community outreach, water conversation events, participating in community disaster preparedness exercises and with philanthropic contributions to organizations such as the Police Activity League, the Secret Santa program and the CHiPS 4 Kids.

In keeping with efforts to streamline Ranchos Water, Penna announced new organizational changes effective May 18. Kristin Huffman will assume the role of Business Administration Supervisor with responsibility for the Administration, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Conservation departments. Greg Miles will serve as Engineering Services Manager responsible for Engineering, Construction, Assets, Capital Budget, and Geographic Information Systems mapping. Mike Reese is responsible for a new Customer Support Department, which seamlessly links Meter Reading and Customer Service. Eric Larson will oversee Financial Services, which is responsible for Accounting, Customer Support, and Procurement.
