AVRWC shareholders join Apple Valley Fire Protection District for holiday cheer (January 10, 2013)

AVRWC - Apple Valley Ranchos Water Company

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. — Apple Valley Ranchos Water Company (Ranchos) and the Apple Valley Senior Center wrapped up 2012 by providing gifts to over 230 children in-need through the annual Secret Santa program sponsored by Apple Valley Fire Protection District. The effort brought much happiness to the children and their families who continue to feel recession impact.

Ranchos Water Conservation Coordinator, Norma Armenta, said, This event is just one of many great ways to pay it forward. I love being involved because I receive something intangible that demonstrates how folks work together in our small, but strong community. Ultimately, we all have an impact on the community at large.

Since 2003, Ranchos shareholders have consistently supported the end-of-year celebration that brightens the lives of those who need a helping hand.

During the event, each child partners up with a volunteer chaperon who helps them find an age-appropriate toy, book, clothing, or special item on child’s wish list at Apple Valley Wal-Mart.

Ranchos employees, friends, and family along with fourteen Health Occupation Students of America members from Apple Valley High School teamed up with Fire District staffers to volunteer time for the Secret Santa event.
