$2.5 million water purchase on Hesperia council agenda (March 17, 2015)

The Hesperia City Council will consider the purchase of 500 acre-feet of water rights from Aqua Capital Management at $5,000 per acre-foot at tonight’s council meeting at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 9700 Seventh St.

If the purchase is approved by the council, $2.5 million would be appropriated from the city’s general fund reserves, according to the city’s website.

The council also will consider an urgency ordinance that would prohibit single-family homes with more than five bedrooms and single-family homes with basements.
