‘A better waste of life’ (May 10, 2017)

If you travel even a little, you have probably noticed that cities just about everywhere have posted signs urging water conservation. Likewise, most hotels and motels have notices in each room urging guests to save water.

Yet there is nothing comparable in Apple Valley, which is currently engaged in a water war. Why? Because the Town itself is the biggest waster of water around. Whether it is over-watering until areas are flooded, allowing irrigation systems to leak uncontrolled, or running sprinklers onto asphalt, the Town leads the way in squandering this precious resource. So much for local control.

It has been said that water is life. To the extent that this is true, the Town of Apple Valley is not only wasting water, it is wasting life itself.
