The Town of Apple Valley has the rudest council woman. She attacks citizens behind their backs if they leave a meeting without listening to her diatribe. She puts herself out to be some magical clarivoyant who knows why people leave, although I am inclined to think it is more likely an expression of her own inadequacy or a guilty conscience.

The sad fact is, unlike our council woman, some people have a real life with young children at home and a babysitter with a time limit for sitting, or an elder who needs timely medication, transportation limitations, and — here is a novel thought — people who actually work and must get up early or have to report for a late shift.

It is a sacrifice for some to attend the meetings, and that fact should be appreciated and not subjected to an elected official’s attack.

If the council woman feels entitled to dictate the actions of her constituency’s meeting attendance, she has lost touch and has ceased to realize that her job is to represent the people, not the other way around. She should step down to save face.
