Not for sale (June 8, 2015)

In his Sunday op-ed piece, Apple Valley councilman Art Bishop writes as if he’s not familiar with the situation surrounding Apple Valley Ranchos Water Company (AV councilman weighs in on water, Press Dispatch, June 7, 2015).

Bishop writes, Tell our friends at Apple Valley Ranchos they need to negotiate with the town, not just with foreign corporations. But Ranchos isn’t negotiating with anybody, including foreign corporations. Apple Valley Ranchos is not for sale, as representatives have repeatedly informed the council. It is the parent corporation of Ranchos that is negotiating and selling, not Ranchos itself.

So let’s set the record straight on this one. Apple Valley Ranchos Water Company is not for sale. If Bishop or anyone else wants someone with whom to negotiate, he needs to study the issue at least closely enough to discover the identities of the entities involved.
